New reads & goodreads

Greetings Internet readers,

I picked up "Girl with a Dragon Tattoo" almost 3 years ago after I was told I ought to read the book before I watched the film by David Fincher. It was also recommended that I watch the Noomi Rapace/Niels Arden Oplev 2009 release than the Roony Mara/David Fincher 2011 release.

Having not watch either, nor read the book, because of a hectic work load,  I picked up the book around last Christmas/NYE and was totally hooked! I thoroughly enjoyed it and I have already begun reading the 2nd instalment of the Millennium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson.


Around the same time as I was reading the Millennium Trilogy, I was also introduced to goodreads by a friend. Goodreads is a fantastic website which recommends new tittles and authors depending on your reading likes. You are also given the option of linking your account with your facebook/google accounts to connect and share with your friends.

New reads

Just finished reading through John Grisham's "The Racketeer". It reads quite easy compared Paulo Coelho's "The Alchemist", which was my last read. They're both great reads and I happily recommend both.

My reading list for the next couple of months....hopefully ?

I'm just about to get around to read my latest investments. The particle at the end of the universe is about the Higgs-Boson written by Sean Carroll. It was highly rated at the time I bought it, which was just after the buzz about the Higgs Boson and Prof. Higgs hitting the news. The other book, although the title grammar is gross incorrect, is about the basic building blocks and functionality of how PC's work. This is what I like to call an access book, where the terminology is very simple yet the whole subject is covered in sufficient detail. My research work motivated me to invest in this book and I'm hoping the knowledge I gain from it will help making photonic computing possible, Ha !
